The Forum, Busy in 2007

Robert Gardner

In addition to the EFFIs, the beach cleanups, and signage project, the Forum has been active in other ways. Newly elected director Walter Sebastian has created a Forum website, www.easthamforum.org where you can find minutes of the Forum Board's monthly meetings, copies of the Forum Notes, as well as other news and developments described later in this newsletter.

In April, the Forum and the Town sponsored a public meeting on the issue of municipal water.

Prior to the May Town Meeting, the Forum sponsored a Saturday "Coffee for Candidates" at which candidates for selectman, the School Committee, and the Library Board of Trustees responded to questions from Eastham citizens.

At Windmill Weekend, the Forum tent provided brochures, charts, and information about plans for a municipal water system. The tent also provided information about the Neighborhood Watch program, as well as photos and data pertaining to the Road Signage Project.

Displays featuring the work of the 1651 Arboretum committee, under the leadership of Forum Board member Loretta Neilsen, were available in an adjacent tent.

The Forum's annual NRHS scholarship was presented to senior Brittany Bohannon.
